The church in Mbau, Kenya
Planted In September 2006 by River of Life World Outreach Centre in Nairobi, Kenya
The land was purchased and the building built by men of the Nairobi church. It was opened as an autonomous church with Elders (2) (servants) that were raised up in the church in Nairobi and there are now 2 Elders(servants) and they are raising up more Elders. There are currently 2 additional young men being raised up for leadership.
This picture was taken of the local church leaders and Bro Charles from USA and Bro Jonas for Nairobi during our first seminar there in December 2006 ( Dec 6-8,2006). From left to right they are Bro Charles Muvengei, Bro Charles LaFoe, Bro Bernard Kyalo, Bro Joseph Mwanzia, Bro Jonas Muvengei and Bro Peter Musyoka in front.
The following are some additional pictures taken during the seminar.
On the first day we set the people free according to scripture to do the work of the ministry as shown in Ephesians 4:11 – 16.
And from that time on the Holy Spirit was moving among them. We had them pray for each other instead of the leaders doing it and many needs were met. They were so hungry for the word that they even participated when asked to, which is unusual. God is going to do a mighty work in this community. The church is only 2 months old and already the building is too small – praise God. We taught on the servanthood of ministry and body ministry and it was well received and accepted. This opened the door for God to move mightily in this church . I am sure we will have many wonderful reports as time goes on.
This church is 1 hour from the nearest paved road by car and the roads are almost impassable with a car. The following is looking down the road and across a bridge on the road to the church.
Below is how the fields are cared for by those wealthy enough to have oxen or donkeys.
And below by those without the resources to own animals.
Below was found in the small town of Matuu in rural Kenya.
On the way to the market in Nairobi to be butchered for food. They walk from Somalia to Nairobi –up to 2 months - a long way.
Below – an interesting rock formation on the way to the church.
Below – an interesting tree. It looks like a cactus but is a tree not a cactus The leaves you see are from a tree growing up beside it- the branches that look like cactus are the leaves of this tree.
