Mary: Mother of God

I imagine the subject heading for many is alarming to say the least. I have read a few of the posts on this message board and I do not believe the catholic position is understood. The faith is 2000 years old and has a tremendous God-given tradition. It is my goal to present to biggest stumbling block for non-catholics first so the rest of the hurdles are more readily understood. The subject heading "Mary - mother of God" can be understood easily -
1. did Mary give birth to Jesus
2. is Jesus God
3. was Jesus God when he was 25
4. was Jesus God when he was 15
5. was Jesus God when he was 5
6. was Jesus God in Mary's womb at 5 months
7. was Jesus God when he came into this world (born)
Mary is the mother of God
The doctine is that simple
