Fear is the mark of oblivion...

I was searching on google and came to a link entitled something like "mormon, muslim, and other false doctrines". I can understand the need to feel like ones understanding of the 'truth' is the correct one, but don't you think that branding other peoples beliefs; and these people feel just as strongly about their beliefs as you do; as false brands YOU as intolerant and fearful? Because it is fear that drives us to these predjudices, not enlightenment. It really is laughable and in all fairness, unfortunate that such a stance is taken at all, never mind implied. The bible itself commands us to constantly search for truth and if you so wholeheartled negate something as false doctrine (and I'm sure most of you have never read the Koran or the book of Mormon) you are immediately selling yourself short and proving to those who wish to prove you wrong your hipocracy and your intolerance, the very things Christ himself came to teach to us. My own beliefs aside, I think it the sign of a fearful and closed mind when those within Christianity choose to condemn a faith and not even have open ears to what they have to say. Because if your faith is so strong and sure, you should have no fear of other doctrines. If yours is indeed the 'true' one then there should be no worry as to the penitrability of your armour. My mother is the same way. She'll easily dismiss something that I see as universal truth just because it comes from the mouth of Buddha. Christianity as a whole aside, we are all individuals that make up a whole. There are almost two billion christians on earth and they all think they are correct. Meanwhile across the world there are a billion muslims that condemn christianity and judaism, all the while claiming their religion is correct. Can this type of intollerance be deemed correct by any religeous disposition claiming universal love, compassion? Lest we forget the verse, "Love thy neighbor as thyself." Your neighbor is not just brother Smith from sunday worship but everyone. I think that is clear. The new testament ephasises this many times. So many things are overlooked in the name of so-called "truth". Is it really so important to cling to for the sake of being correct? Meanwhile we exclude those who don't agree and even have the self-righteous audacity to deem them evil! Jesus did not once do this. In fact, he said, "I came not to condemn but to save." We claim to follow jesus but do exactly the opposite in our actions, all the while carrying his namesake on our sleeves like the Nazis did as they exterminated the Jews so cruelly. You may be a christian but one day you may wake up, both physically and spiritually, and realise that instead you are indeed a Nazi.
