Our Response to The
|

| (2 John 4:1) | "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world." |
| (3 John:11) | "Beloved , do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. He who does good is of God, but he who does evil has not seen God." |
True moves of God always entail much travail, repentance and seeking of God. NEVER is a True move of God begun with pride, arrogance or man's desire to see God move his way in his time.
Just because someone tells us a thing is of God does not mean it is (many of the big names completely lack discernment and are walking in deception). Scripture requires us to discern for ourselves. We are to discern all things (2 John 4:1). If we have a personal relationship with God this is easy, if we do not it is impossible. We are not required by scripture (only by churches) to follow our leaders blindly. You are responsible for your walk with God.
We MUST understand that God desires to Bless us. If we ask HIM for a blessing He will not give us a curse. We must understand His ways if we are going to know how to walk with Him. If we understand His character and nature we will be able to discern what is of Him.
When we allow someone to Lay Hands on us we are asking for an impartation of what They have. Whatever spirits they have are now free to enter us (we have given permission). If we are not able to discern what is of God, we may allow ourselves to be completely influenced by these demonic spirits. For this reason it is imperative that we have Godly discernment. We must make the decision whether to let someone lay hands on us or our family members. We cannot follow along with others and trust them to hear from God for us. If we are foolish enough to allow someone with a foul spirit to lay hands on us, then we are going to be led by this spirit as it takes over. (remember you invited it in). If you have allowed someone like this to lay hands on you or your family members, it is not too late to correct the problems. You must renounce the spirits, repent and ask God to cleanse you from all unrighteousness and be once again cleansed and free.
The following will compare a few of the things happening at these movements with scripture to "see if they are of God".
Bizarre Behavior |
|
|
Gestures as in mentally ill patients- Jerking and shaking as in palsy. |
Mt.4:24 Afflicted with various diseases |
| Collapsing on floor/falling down. | Mt.17:15 - Mk.9:20 - Lk.9:39 |
| Uncontrolled laughter. | No scripture for this |
| Crying/strange noises-roaring. | Mt.8:28 - Lk.9:39 |
|
Palsy-shaking/falling down (falling down:slain??) |
Mt.4:9 |
|
Satan desires people to "fall down and worship me" |
Mt. 3:9- Mt. 4:24 |
All of the above are emotional outbursts or downright satanic activity. None of the above are scriptural actions of a believer. There IS NO scripture to approve of any of these actions. All of the things happening in the name of God at these places are putting the people in an UNCONTROLLED frenzy. God is a God of order, he does not impart an uncontrollable spirit.
There is no scripture for the action referred to as "being slain in the spirit" which is so prevalent in the church today. I know of only a few instances in the new testament (our church age) of people knocked down by the Holy Spirit. One is Acts 9:4 when Paul was knocked down by Jesus. He repented and changed. He was not in an uncontrollable state, in fact he had full control over his facilities except for his eyesight and God told him his blindness was a sign from Him. No confusion at all. The other is in Acts 5 when Annanias and Saphira were "slain by the Holy Spirit." No confusion at all, they were DEAD and were carried out. While I must agree that God does on occasion knock people down (after all He is God ) (Disciples fell on their faces "in fear" - Mt. 17:6), I cannot endorse this as a Doctrine of scripture and it certainly is not being "slain". . If these people are truly being slain in the spirit why are they not dead??
These same spirits have shown up before. Though we have no record in the "Christian churches" of a "movement such as this" that started with these spirits, we can look at the REAL moves of God from the past and see these same spirits showing up and trying to take over.
THE DIFFERENCE? The Godly men leading those movements either CAST THEM OUT or CLOSED down the meetings to get rid of them.
SEE:
U.S. Camp meetings of the 1800's
Great awakenings of the 1700's (Whitefield, Edwards, Tennant, etc)
1904 Welch revival
The works of Charles Finney, John Wesley and others.
In Conclusion:
John 4:1 "Test the spirits, whether they are of God."
We cannot trust anyone to test the spirits for us. Charisma Magazine, Hosanna Music, and many other "christian" magazines and groups are promoting these worldly movements: so-how can we trust them? WE MUST TEST THE SPIRITS OURSELVES "to see if they be of God."
The Brownsville (Pensacola) and Toronto movements are the latest most current example of the saints being misled-deceived. These moves and others like them are not of God and His Holy Spirit, but of Satan, led by carnal (fleshly) men and women who do not understand God and His ways. (who do not have Godly discernment). It is Charismania at its worst and must be rejected (and renounced) by all who wish to continue on in Christ.
Those who partake of and promote these ungodly moves will be held responsible and will pay for it in the end.
| 2 John 10 & 11 | If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds. |
True godly leadership not only will reject such things as these, they will warn their flock and teach them how to recognize "what is of God." In short they will stand for what is of God and ONLY that which is of GOD
Of course there is another obvious way to test the spirits. We shall know them by their fruit. What is the fruit of these movements? What happens to those who have been involved?
We have been involved with bringing deliverance to some of those who have been to these meetings and had hands laid on them. We have seen all kinds of demonic spirits cast out of them. We have seen and will be listing after this article some of the many reports of the fruit of these meetings. Some very frequently received spirits are the spirit of rebellion, the spirit of infirmity (thus the shaking and palsy) and the spirit of harlotry. We have confirmed reports of MUCH demonic activity and nothing that is good according to scripture.
The Assemblies of God are endorsing this movement and wish it to be in all of their churches-God help us. Following is a letter from the Top man in their organization. Note that if you can find fault with this move; you either are not of the assemblies ( we are not) or you do not understand the pentecostal movement (we do, having walked in it for over 24 years). It is difficult to stand on the Word when your church leaders are falling for the deception, but this is all the more reason to discern all spirits ourselves as scripture admonishes us.
If you have a report from one of these movements that you would like us to post here email it to Charles@TrueChristianity.org
